Grounded TV

Introduce yourselves and where y'all at?

Where do each of you get your inspiration (for film, photography, writing, songs)?

I've noticed most of the successful projects seem to resurrect old ideas in a totally different context than they were used in before.

Thoughts?

I personally am Donald R. Anderson, and I'm involved in Poet's Espresso newsletter since June/July 2005, self-publishing, writing, poetry, graphic art, web design, print design, and general all-around-creativity-and-the-arts.

I get my inspirations from reading, from online fun stuff, and (mostly) from everyday mundane things.

Well I haven't (unfortunately) had many web clients yet, though my education is on www.rainflowers.org/Resume.html and that's my site there, rainflowers, and I had started a ning like you guys a while back www.poetsespresso.com and my poetry is online at http://dramaartwriting.blogspot.com ... my favorite of the web sites that I have designed is actually down for now because they forgot to pay the host, it was one for the band The Cradle of Sound. I just did a chapbook this weekend at http://www.lulu.com/content/5933523 and you can find my memberships online by googling dramaartwriting or poetsespresso

Cool, BUNKS Muzak!

Would you be interested in me forwarding a demo of a song I co-wrote, called "You & Me" ?

Joshua Smotherman in the building. I'm a full-time student (B.S. in Anthropology/working on a B.S. in Music Business). A full time father of 2 (4 year old son, 6 month old daughther). I work in the campus library part-time.

I run an indie hip hop label based in Tennessee called B.U.N.K.S. Muzak! I'm a songwriter/producer/engineer, I handle all the promotion and marketing as of right now and also dabble a little in artists management and other administrative tasks to help the acts my label works with get off to great starts. We actively gig in the Mid-TN area and are hoping to start expanding that within 6 months but definitely by the end of this year.

I'm also Community Relations Director for an organization known as HICIC (Humans in Crisis International Corporation). We help communities in crisis locally and globally. We currently work with orphanages in South Africa and Hyberbad, India. We are sending one of our guys to Nepal next week to scout out another orphanage that needs assistance with their growing number of children.

I think that about covers it :D

I should watch more movies than I do. I rarely do, I guess because of some of them being too violence-themed or else slapstick comedy, neither of which has the slightest appeal to me.

And I agree that TV has gone down the toilet full of propaganda.

My dad watches the news a lot and I just hide in my room away from the blatant lies and baldfaced bad politics when I stay over.

Hey everyone,

I'm an undercover Canadian living in Texas.. moved down here three years ago and so far successfully living under the radar of Big Brother ;) subsisting off of my cafepress earnings and my backyard garden.

I'm inspired by what I read mostly. Chomsky, Zinn, Mander, Biafra, Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury, Rod Serling, Naomi Klein. I just finished reading Frankenstein - such an amazing book. It's nothing like the movies would have you believe.

I prefer movies over television. What little tv I do see is laughable and disgusting. Too many corporate agendas are being pushed through television, so much so that I think our society is quickly devolving into an Idiocracy mentality.

And if you haven't seen Idiocracy yet, I highly recommend it. Much like Bulworth, it's got balls. So much so that the studio tried to bury it.

Successful projects resurrect old ideas? I totally agree.

The Hidden Fortress (1958) -> Star Wars (1977) -> Eragon (2006)

The Never Ending Story (1984) -> Inkheart (2008)

Buck Rogers (1939) -> The Forbidden Planet (1958) -> Lost In Space (1965) -> Star Trek (1967) -> Star Wars (1977) -> Futurama -> Buck Rogers (2011)

American Idol -> American Dreamz

bah.. I'm rambling now.

Greetings GroundedtV/The Word,

I am Casey Bennett (or Casey3). I am a photographer based out of Victoria, BC. I've been shooting now for about 3 years and I love every aspect of what I do. I specialize in a lot of things, but I mainly love live music, promos, editorial, headshots and fashion.

My background is in film (I attended film school with Syd, the creator of this amazing site). After that, I struggled to get anything made and found a love for photography. Lately I've been inspired to give film another try and just recently finished my first draft for a short film which I am very excited about.

I'm looking to meet with collaborative minds and hopefully make connections with people that will lead to professional working relationships.

Also, I would like you all to stop by and say hello. Check my work out. Leave a note so I can see who is visiting and in return I can visit and say hello myself.

Peace,

Casey Bennett

I write song lyrics sometimes. A variety of genres, but anything that has a melody and isn't too hard or harsh.

I visited but didn't see a good link to add your blog to my feeds so I googled you and added your blogspot. Feel free to submit photos to the newsletter I edit, poetsespresso.
